Social science is a field of science that helps to understand and transform society. However, in Hong Kong, because the commercial culture has long dominated the educational value, and in recent years, there is an urgent need to catch up with the innovation and technology boom, STEM education has been promoted from primary schools to universities. There are relatively few subject resources, and the proportion of students only accounts for about 10% of the number of students in all colleges and universities.
In the case of a solidified industrial structure, the employment needs of traditional business majors and emerging innovation and technology industries are still relatively strong, and the salaries are relatively popular, but social science-related jobs are becoming more and more difficult to find a way out, and the starting salary after graduation is higher than that of medical care.
