Storm causes trees to fall - motorists injured

Storm "Emmelinde" caused a lot of damage in the south-east of Lower Saxony on Friday evening.
A man was slightly injured near Einbeck when a tree fell on his car, said a police spokesman in Stadtoldendorf.
The driver was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
Holzminden/Northeim – According to the police officer, Landstraße 580 between the towns of Mackensen and Merxhausen had to be closed.
About 50 trees were downed by a tornado.
Several buildings were also damaged in Merxhausen.
According to the information, the federal road 497 between Neuhaus and Uslar also had to be closed due to fallen trees.
In the Northeim district, trees fell over due to the storm, said a police spokeswoman.
The Bad Gandersheim area in particular was affected.
A road was closed due to fallen trees.
