"The Israeli enemy carried out an aggression (...) which killed three martyrs and caused some material damage"

, indicated the same source.

The missiles were fired from the Golan Heights annexed by Israel, it was said.

AFP correspondents in Damascus said they heard loud explosions.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (OSDH), the three killed are officers and the four wounded, soldiers, of the anti-aircraft defense.

A fire broke out near Damascus airport, where ambulances were seen rushing to the site of the strikes, according to the same source.

On May 13 a similar strike killed five soldiers, and on April 27 another killed 100.

Since the start of the war in Syria in 2011, Israel has carried out hundreds of airstrikes in its neighbor, targeting positions of the Syrian army, Iranian forces and Lebanese Hezbollah.

The Jewish state rarely comments on its strikes against Syria but says it will not allow Iran to expand its influence in Syria.
