Herrsching – On July 9, 1922, the Oberaltinger branch church foundation became the independent parish church foundation of St. Nikolaus in Herrsching.
That was 100 years ago now.
The memorable occasion in Herrsching is celebrated with a festival week.
In 1922, a long-cherished wish of the community, which was growing rapidly at the time, came true.
Since then a lot has happened.
The parish grew and the pastors changed.
That's why there should be an opportunity to exchange memories at the anniversary celebrations from Friday, May 20th to Sunday, May 22nd.
bishop dr
Bertram Maier is coming on Friday
It will start this Friday, 7 p.m., with Vespers with Bishop Dr.
Bertram Maier.
A ceremony follows.
The exhibition "100 Years - 100 Heads" will also be opened.
All active and former volunteers in the parish are invited to this evening.
Anniversary hike on Saturday
On Saturday, 9 a.m., an anniversary hike to Oberalting starts at St. Nikolaus.
The participants walk in the footsteps of the former Oberaltingen chaplains.
Worship and refreshments are held in Oberalting.
At 5 p.m. there will be an ecumenical Vespers in St. Martin.
The reason for this is also that the still young Catholic parish left the Martinskirche to the newly founded Protestant community for Sunday services for many years.
Festive service with Abbot Dr.
Johannes Eckert OSB on Sunday
On Sunday, 11.30 a.m., the parish invites you to the festive service in the St. Nicholas Church with Abbot Dr.
Johannes Eckert OSB, St. Bonifaz Munich and Andechs.
Afterwards there will be a champagne reception in the inner courtyard.
As souvenirs there are historical postcards, jigsaw puzzles for children and an interactive game on the homepage.
