Six eighth graders from Neubiberg have a big heart.

The high school students have launched a fundraising project to help children with cancer.

Neubiberg

– Frida is eight years old.

The young girl went through and is still going through difficult weeks.

Because Frida suffers from a malignant abdominal tumor and is currently being treated in the Augsburg Children's Cancer Center.

"But the girl is almost healed now," says Ana happily.

A project becomes an affair of the heart

Ana is a student in the eighth grade at the Neubiberger Gymnasium.

She and her five friends Ida, Johanna, Jette, Julia and Luisa from her grade have chosen a very special activity for the project lessons this school year.

"We were free to choose the project and didn't want to design computer games or create cookbooks," adds Jette.

"In the group, we knew immediately that we absolutely wanted to help where help was urgently needed - and that's how we came up with the idea of collecting donations," says Luisa.

"We came across the needs of children with cancer - there was a contact within our group," explains Ida.

"Because it's terrible what just young people have to go through."

facilitate your stay in the clinic

"Unfortunately we can't do too much, but the donations will go to toys or medical supplies.

Especially to make it easier for the children to stay in the hospital during this difficult time," hopes Johanna.

Remarkable: The Neubiberg schoolgirls act completely alone.

"We don't have any professional support," says Julia.

"Our goal is simply to collect as many donations as possible." Word of the students' commitment has already got around and cannot be overlooked.

The girls sell ice cream and waffles for a good cause and have set up a self-service stand with goodies in the staff room.

There will even be a separate information event this school year.

Close contact with the cancer center

"Our parents are proud of the commitment," the girls rejoice.

"But it's important for us to do it alone."

It is even more important to them how the little patients are doing.

"We are in telephone contact with Frida and the people from the cancer center.

But at the end of the year, when we hand over all of the donations, we will be able to go to Augsburg, have a look at the center and talk to doctors and the children affected," says Ana.

"Then we want to get an idea and see whether our effort was worth it and whether we can put a smile on the patient's face in their difficult situation."

1800 euros have already come together

The young people have already achieved a lot.

After a teacher had necessarily helped them set up a donation account, plenty of money was already coming in.

Over 1800 euros have already come together.

But there could be more, the six charmingly beat the charitable advertising drum.
