Super Pumped, an anthology series

“Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber” is the first part of the “Super Pumped” anthology series in which each season will explore a story that shook the business world and changed culture.

What prompted Thurman to say "yes" to this series based on Mike Isaac's bestselling book, "Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber"?

"I'm a big fan of the show "Billions" which I've been watching since the beginning and the creators of "Super Pumped" Brian and David. I didn't think the Uber story would be that interesting, it's just an app on my phone "says the Golden Globe winner.

He adds: "I didn't know much about her, but we had a wonderful meeting and then I read the book it was based on and I knew, I don't know her very closely, but I have seen her. So I thought, oh, this is really complicated and challenging. And that's what caught my interest."

Arianna Huffington: journalist, columnist and businesswoman

Born in Greece and the daughter of journalist Konstantinos Stassinopoulos, Arianna Huffington graduated from Cambridge University and moved to the United States where she married politician Michael Huffington.

She dabbled in politics and journalism and in 2005 she launched The Huffington Post.

A powerful and ambitious woman, who was recently included in Forbes magazine's list of the 50 Influential Women Over 50, and who joined the company's board of directors in 2016 as the first female member.

What was it based on to play Arianna Huffington?

Thurman assures that it was based on the journalist's Ted Talks: "I listened to the recordings of her voice for hundreds of hours. I relied a lot on TED talks and interviews, trying to understand how her mind approached a topic verbally, which was what more importantly. You can't ask someone for advice on how to be them."

"If someone asked me what I'm like, I'd be confused. I wouldn't know how to answer. So I didn't approach it that way. But the script for 'Super Pumped' captured a lot of his wit and humor. And that's what I wanted to make sure." find, because I think it's very funny and brilliant.

Although some journalists describe restaurants, hotels, movies and TV series in one sentence, Uma had never done it before and, when asked how she would define "Super Pumped", this is what she had to say:

"That's a totally, totally unique question. I think it's a very creative question of character and motives and business and innovation and change today and kind of kind of…slightly amoral."

"Freedom of mind that can come with genius. And when that clashes with the culture, you know, I think it's a very interesting and well-executed set of ideas," he concludes.

In case you did not know...

Uber was born thanks to its founders, Travis Kalanick and Garrett Camp, being stuck in Paris on a cold night and unable to find a taxi.

They wondered: what if you could request a ride just by tapping your phone?

The rest is history.

"Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber" can be seen throughout Latin America on the Paramount+ streaming platform.
