Drivers and motorcyclists on the A8 had an unusual encounter on Thursday afternoon: two women on e-scooters.
Neubiberg – The highway police received several calls on Thursday afternoon.
The reason: Road users would have seen two people traveling with e-scooters on the A8 towards Salzburg.
At first there was talk of children, the Holzkirchen motorway police said in the afternoon.
A police patrol immediately set off.
However, the officers did not see any people traveling on scooters in the area described.
In the meantime, another road user reported to the police;
she said she picked up two women on the freeway.
She waited with them at a nearby supermarket parking lot.

The police patrol was finally able to clarify the situation at the parking lot: Two young holidaymakers from Bulgaria had gone on a trip with their e-scooters.
Without local knowledge, the two relied entirely on the navigation app on their cell phones - which probably led the women straight onto the motorway.
Because they didn't know their way, they continued on the highway.
Apparently they were not aware of how dangerous the journey on the A8 was.
"Fortunately" the two women were brought to safety by the road user, the highway police said.
The vacationers were remorseful to the officials and promised never to drive a scooter on the highway again.
