He was "a stroke of luck," says the mayor of Wolfratshausen: Edeka branch manager Klaus Heininger received the Loisachstadt business award.
Waldram – For eleven years, the city has been presenting an award for outstanding entrepreneurial qualities.
There was an understandable reason why the sculpture “Squaring the Circle”, created by the Eurasburg artist Hans Kastler, who died in 2016, was not presented on Thursday evening in the town hall, as is usually the case, but in the bathhouse.
Because the place of work of the award winner Klaus Heininger is only a stone's throw away from the place of remembrance at Kolpingplatz.
In 2016, the 62-year-old took over the Edeka branch on Faulhaberstrasse, which was threatened with closure, from his predecessor Hans-Joachim Freywald, thus securing the continued existence of the local supplier in the district with over 4,000 inhabitants.
"A stroke of luck": The city of Wolfratshausen honors this entrepreneur with an economic award
"You are a stroke of luck for the citizens of Waldram," praised the head of the town hall, Klaus Heilinglechner, about the businessman.
The city council had already made the decision to award the business prize to Heininger at the end of 2019.
Due to the corona pandemic, the award had to be postponed in the two following years.
"But the price is still valid," joked Heilinglechner.
He thanked the two city councilors Manfred Menke (SPD) and Helmut Forster (Wolfratshauser Liste), who had been able to persuade Heininger to take over the supermarket six years ago.

Economics officer Forster, who at that time still represented the citizens' association on the city council, was brief in his laudatory speech.
"Mr. Menke and I visited him in Geretsried," he recalled.
There, on Breslauer Weg, Heininger still operates another branch today.
The businessman only hesitated briefly and accepted the challenge - knowing full well that a redesign of the 850 square meter shop was essential.
With the installation of a fresh meat counter and monthly grilled fish stick campaigns, he struck a chord with his customers right away.
"The citizens enjoy the excellent range of goods and the friendly service," emphasized Forster.
Entrepreneur employs 60 people
District Administrator Josef Niedermaier (Free Voters), who, like Martin Bachhuber (CSU) and numerous city councilors and board members of the advertising group, had come to the bathhouse for the award ceremony, made an appeal to the general public.
"This trade only exists if we go and shop." Running a grocery store is a "tough business" due to low profit margins.
Niedermaier appreciated Heininger's commitment, which entailed a lot of loss of free time.
Last but not least, the business owner is responsible for 60 employees, 22 of whom work in Waldram.
Accompanied by the Wolfratshausen town band, the honoree received many congratulations at the buffet.
