A recording studio in Olching is the hot tip in the songwriter scene: Florian Streitwieser's "Little Cabin".

From the outside it is a very simple wooden shed.

But inside, prominent artists such as Hannes Ringlstetter are working on their latest pieces.

Olching – Opposite the grammar school, inconspicuously in the second row behind a single-family house in the style of the 1950s, a wooden barn is hidden.

Behind it one suspects lawnmowers, snowploughs and tools, a musical hotspot with prominent visitors rather not.

But that's exactly what it is: Because the rustic backdrop houses a recording studio that's popular in the songwriter scene: the "Little Cabin" (small cabin) by Olchinger Florian Streitwieser.

Bloodthirsty Ballad recorded

A prominent guest recently was Hannes Ringlstetter.

He is best known for his cult role as Yazid (“I do everything”) in the TV series “Hubert without Staller”, but also as a TV presenter, cabaret artist and musician.

Ringlstetter made his way to Olching for his latest piece of music.

He recorded "The Ballad of Hinterkaifeck".

The music had already been recorded by the Bavarian band LiaB (Lost in a Bar) with singer Ulla Niedermeier, trumpeter Dominik Scherer, Stefan Huber (tuba), Milena Langer (clarinet) and drummer Andy Kuhn.

In the "small cabin" Ringelstetter completed the ballad about a bloody deed that happened 100 years ago with six dead on the Hinterkaifeck farm near Schrobenhausen.

Rustic setting: Here you would probably expect lawn mowers and garden tools, but in fact there is an artistic hotspot hidden behind the walls.

Flo the feather

Florian Streitwieser or "Flo, die Feder", as the recording studio owner is called in the local music scene, works at the mixing desk.

The 50-year-old no longer knows where and by whom he got his nickname and stage name.

“Probably because I danced like a feather when I was young.” The native of Estingen has meanwhile swapped his partners for a double bass.

He mainly plays it when he's on tour through the regional music bars with Olching's folk and country singer Dominik Hruby, alias Cluas.

The L&M duo, which is well-known in the district, also records its songs primarily in Streitwieser's studio.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular FFB newsletter.)

This is fully booked after the forced Corona break.

Streitwieser can hardly catch his breath.

The trained carpenter is also constantly on the road as a sound engineer for film and television productions.

Musically, too, he has had a turbulent time.

He was stage manager for LaBrassBanda, played with reggae star Wally Warning and accompanied the Bavarian folk singer Eva Klein.

In his studio, which looks more like a cozy living room with all sorts of art and junk in the corner, Streitwieser gathers the musicians around him like a playmaker at a soccer ball.

At least that's how the 50-year-old, who used to play football for a hobby team called "Little Helper", describes his job.

Everything is based on a large network: "Who knows whom who plays the right instrument for a suitable song."

A beer at the beginning as an icebreaker

Which is why cult actor Hannes Ringlstetter knocked on the wooden door in the backyard.

"A nucleus for special moments and an encounter in a very small space," he described the atmosphere afterwards.

“Something special can always arise, but you have to understand each other.

Because it's very narrow.” Ringlstetter's first glance probably also fell on the obligatory blue beer porter, which is always in the corner.

Because the star also noted: "A little beer helps as a welcome." So there was an "exchange before you started working".

The guest usually drinks the Augustiner, which is preferred by Streitwieser, out of the bottle, while the sound engineer himself prefers the ancient original stone mug from the brewery.

Ringlstetter: "And that's exactly how it is handled there.

Good this way.

The introductory chat with Streitwieser lasted a good hour.

Another 60 minutes later, Hinterkaifeck's bloodthirsty ballad was in the can.
