The Kfir Brigade headquarters will initially receive the mission in the coming weeks. • Depending on the success: it will be decided whether the pilot will be expanded to additional sections along tens of kilometers.

In the coming weeks, the IDF will establish a "mission brigade," which will be responsible for preventing the entry of Shavuot into Israel along tens of kilometers in the seam area.

This is what Israel Today has learned.

This is a pilot that will take place in the first phase of the "Maccabim" sector, and if it succeeds, it may be extended to other sectors as well.

The ordering idea of the mission division would be to improve seam protection through more effective command and control.

In this context, in the near future, the headquarters of the Kfir Brigade, under the command of Colonel Sharon Altit, will be given the task.

The battalions that will pass under his command will be the battalions that also carry out operational employment on the spot.

In the future, the IDF will make a decision on whether the mission brigade will remain a Kfir Brigade permanently, or whether there will be a round between the brigades.

Depending on the success of the pilot, the IDF will also discuss the possibility of establishing additional mission brigades in additional sectors along the seam area.

Installation of loopholes

Following the wave of terrorist attacks in the past two months, the IDF has significantly thickened the order of forces in Judea and Samaria to protect the seam area and combat the phenomenon of illegal occupants. Entered Israel almost unhindered.

Due to the diversion of many forces to the seam area, there was a violation of the training and regular training of the regular forces in the army.

To reduce further damage, it was decided at the top of the army to start recruiting reservists for the protection of the seam.

According to the chief of staff's decision, the IDF will continue to allocate large forces to the seam as long as the security situation requires it.

Along with the allocation of forces, the Ministry of Defense began work to repair the many breaches in the system fence and spread curls in the designated places.

In addition, several trenches were dug along the seam area to prevent the passage of vehicles.

Reduction in infiltration

The total number of these actions by the Ministry of Defense has greatly reduced the number of illegal residents crossing the fence on foot or by vehicle.

According to estimates, now only hundreds of Shiites are able to cross from Judea and Samaria into the Green Line. Meanwhile, Defense Minister Bnei Gantz decided to approve NIS 360 million for the construction of a wall along part of the seam area. - 134 kilometers of wall built in space.

It will be recalled that the entire seam area is spread over about 600 kilometers, and an additional NIS 3 billion is needed to complete the barrier, which is not currently available.
