Lebanese President, General Michel Aoun, asked the current government headed by Najib Mikati, a caretaker, until a new government is formed.
Under the Lebanese constitution, the government is considered to have resigned, starting tomorrow, due to the start of the new parliament's mandate.
The Lebanese parliamentary elections took place last Sunday.
