The Pullinger lakes near Freising are one of the projects of the recreation area association.

In Forstern, one does not believe that such a bathing area can be created in the municipal area.

It could look better in pies.

A bathing pond has long been on the wish list of the citizens of Pastette and Forstern.

In order to get closer to this goal, both communities want to join the recreation area association.

Forstern/Pastetten

– The municipal committees recently had the concept presented to them at a joint meeting by managing director Jens Besenthal (see below).

To date, 67 districts, towns and communities belong to the association, in Erding Pastetten and Forstern would be the first members.

According to the council decision, an application is required to join, the decision will be made by the general meeting in December.

By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Erding newsletter.

Current projects of the association are further construction phases at the Pullinger Seen and at the Hollerner See.

“These are beautiful water surfaces, but is it comparable to ours?

I'm skeptical," said Forstern Mayor Rainer Streu (AWG) in the municipal council.

Recreation area association: Forstern would pay 990 euros a year

For his community, the annual contribution would be around 990 euros.

Sebastian Klinger (CSU) was surprised at this relatively low sum: "The property prices are so high, how do you want to finance that?" Anton Oskar (CSU) also said: "It doesn't sound real to me that you can do that with so little contribution what can finance.”

Streu explained that membership works according to the principle of solidarity.

Everyone pays their contribution, so that around one million euros can be invested annually.

But of course a recreational area cannot be created immediately in every municipality, and in some it never happens because there are no suitable locations.

"And they can't build castles in the air either," Streu warned against arousing excessive expectations among the citizens by joining that there would be bathing opportunities in the Brandl gravel pit in the foreseeable future.

"I can hardly imagine that we can implement that there, we have to be so open to our citizens." Just because you join, you will not get the Pullinger Seen in Forstern.

"With us, it's eight or ten meters down the steep embankment, and then there's maybe 20 square meters of water." Perhaps it doesn't have to be water, says Streu, but a nice walk.

Forstern wants to join - a dissenting vote in the municipal council

"I was impressed by the presentation," admitted Josef Obermaier (CSU), "but it doesn't suit Forstern.

We don't have these conditions, it's a castle in the air from the start." Franz-Josef Obermaier (AWG) saw it similarly: "It doesn't do much for our community, the Brandl gravel pit is not suitable." But in Pastetten, adjacent to the fish ponds, it's community land, you could create a recreation area there if the neighbors got involved.

Satisfied with nothing

Thorsten Sharmatinat (Greens), on the other hand, did not share this skepticism.

“It goes without saying that we will not achieve such large reference projects. But they have the competence, they look at it and make suggestions.

We will definitely benefit from the service.” Erwin Nominacher (SPD) also said that every parliamentary group had had the topic of bathing ponds in the election program for years.

"That's why I'm surprised that it's now being rejected so flatly.

It would be worth a try to put our lip service to action over the years.”

Peter Feckl (AWG) and Simona Loupal (non-party/SPD) also said the service was affordable for the community.

Stefan Ganghofer (CSU) suggested trying it and reflecting again after five years.

That was the resolution that only Josef Obermaier voted against.

Pastetten voted unanimously to join

In Pastetten, the decision to join the association was unanimous - and the discussion beforehand was much shorter.

After a brief discussion, the Council did not consider a time limit to be necessary.

"We can only win," said Mayor Peter Deischl (FWE).

"I find the concept very convincing and look forward to things moving forward," said Andreas Winner (FWE).

He thinks the club is the right partner.

For Matthias Zimmerer (CSU) it is crucial that the club “has done something like this before, knows the details and can implement them”.

Susanne Gerster (WRH) sees the principle of solidarity as a fundamental aspect and would therefore refrain from setting a time limit: "It only works if many people participate over a long period of time."

Horst Ippisch (FWE) also emphasized this.

He thinks it's good "that maybe other competent people who have never played a role in this whole process approach the property owners and maybe find open ears".

In addition, the price is very reasonable.

With around 2,800 inhabitants, it would be around 730 euros a year for pastries.

This is the recreation area association

The non-profit association for safeguarding national recreation areas in the districts around Munich e.

V., or “

Recreation Area

Association” for short, was founded in 1965 and is dedicated to creating recreation areas for the population in the greater Munich area.

According to the homepage, the focus is on "

recreation in the great outdoors

, not on the creation of adventure or fun parks".

In doing so, it is important to create and maintain biotope structures in the areas – wherever possible.

The promotion of cycling is another concern.

There are currently

32 recreational areas

in existence, construction and planning, more than 700 hectares of land owned, and investments to date have totaled more than

79 million euros

.

The association acquires or leases suitable areas, often together with the municipality, carries out the necessary planning, undertakes the expansion and then hands over the recreation area to the public free of charge, according to a presentation by the association.

The areas have the necessary infrastructure, where necessary a water guard station, and usually a kiosk or a restaurant.

The

ongoing maintenance

such as care or waste disposal as well as traffic safety would be contractually transferred from the association to the municipality.

Renovation measures that go beyond maintenance, extensions or new buildings are in turn taken over by the association.

It is currently financed exclusively through

membership fees

, which amount to 26 cents for municipalities and 51 cents for districts per inhabitant and year.

There has been no funding from the Free State of Bavaria for well over ten years.
