Feldkirchen
– From Monday, May 23rd, everyone in Feldkirchen can book the first car-sharing vehicle in the community.
This is made possible by the provider "ivy-share", which belongs to Ebersberger MFM GmbH.
The first car in Feldkirchen is an Opel Corsa, one hour costs 3.49 euros plus 35 cents per kilometer.
In 2019, the UWV parliamentary group applied for the municipality to purchase an electric car that Feldkirch citizens could use.
Although at that time a clear majority voted for the development of a loan concept, nothing happened afterwards.
In April 2021, the UWV renewed its idea, again there was a 10:8 vote for it.
Alexander Zimmermann (UWV) justified the application by saying that the municipality would make one available for errands, short trips or doctor's appointments for citizens who cannot buy an electric car themselves or who do not have a car at all.
The vehicle is environmentally friendly, is well received in other communities "and we set a good example".
The community should not buy the car or take care of the rental - because it would be closed on weekends.
"We don't have any trouble with it"
After that, the municipality received numerous offers from car-sharing companies.
“We looked at all of them and then settled on ivy.
We don't have any effort with it, everything runs via their app," explained Mayor Andreas Janson (UWV).
Anyone who is interested in renting the car in front of the town hall from Monday only has to load the ivy app onto their smartphone, register and identify themselves with it.
He can then book the car for 3.49 euros an hour plus 35 cents per kilometer driven - insurance and refueling are already included.
Ivy currently has six vehicles in use, mainly in the Ebersberg district, but there is also a car in Aschheim or Poing.
"Unfortunately, there are no e-cars available at the moment, but as soon as this is possible again, we will also have e-car sharing in Feldkirchen," promises Mayor Andreas Janson.
