Ankara - Sana
Thousands of Turks demonstrated in Istanbul today, in protest of the Turkish regime's decision to imprison the official in the opposition Republican People's Party, Canan Kaftancioglu.
Reuters news agency reported that the demonstrators gathered in the Maltepe neighborhood in the city center and denounced the decisions of the courts of the Recep Tayyip Erdogan regime and its repressive measures by shutting the mouths of opponents of his policies, including the decision to convict Jenan and sentence her to imprisonment for nearly five years.
It is noteworthy that Jenan headed the opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) branch in Istanbul.
Erdogan's regime continues its crackdown campaigns against its opponents in various Turkish cities and regions under various pretexts. Over the past years, tens of thousands of civilians and soldiers have been arrested, in addition to the dismissal or suspension of about 150 thousand workers in the government, the army, the judiciary, education and other institutions.
