Dentists Conference: Raising the end-of-service gratuity compensation and controlling the quality and prices of materials

Members of the forty-fifth annual general conference of the Dental Syndicate in Syria demanded comprehensive health insurance, a study of double taxation, raising the end-of-service benefit compensation, death benefit, pension, creating a central cooperative warehouse, issuing a new tariff for dental work, and controlling the quality and prices of dental materials and equipment.

The members of the conference, which was held in Aleppo under the slogan “Let us strengthen hope in building Syria as it should be,” demanded the establishment of investment projects in the branches to support the retirement treasury, amend the rural service law, increase the number of doctors accepted for specialization, and issue a unified financial system for the union and an internal system for employees.

Engineer Hoda Al-Homsi, a member of the central leadership of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, pointed out in her speech the importance of the conference to discuss the development of the dental profession, review the laws governing it and remedy the gaps in proportion to the time and place. Dentists should encourage them to continue providing medical and treatment services to members of the community.

Dr. Zakaria Al-Basha, head of the Syndicate of Dentists in Syria, indicated that today's conference is a station for evaluating union work during the previous stage and setting a plan to improve the professional reality of dentistry, improve the living conditions of doctors, especially retirees, and provide medical treatment to citizens at acceptable prices.

A number of participating dentists from the governorates of the country pointed out, in statements to SANA reporter, the importance of the conference in discussing the proposals of each branch separately and coming up with recommendations that contribute to the development of union work and benefit the practice of the dental profession, especially with regard to the development of legislation and laws regulating the work of the profession.

The attendees then reviewed the financial, professional and organizational reports and voted on them.

The conference was attended by the Secretary of the Aleppo Branch of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party, Ahmed Mansour.
