A 19-year-old Be'er Sheva resident was arrested yesterday (Friday) after reporting to the police a false report about an attack that did not take place in Meitar.

After it became clear that no exceptional case had occurred in the locality, the suspect was located, taken to the police and it became clear that he was fabricating the incident to impress his girlfriend and parents.

According to police, the girl's parents objected to the connection between her and the young man, and he decided to fabricate the story in an attempt to meet her again after he was expelled from their home.

The incident began around 11:00 PM, when the Hotline 100 received a report from a man who sounded frightened and panting and quickly asked for mobility because on Harel Street there was a group of religious boys running and saying that there was a wounded man by gunfire or stab wounds.

In addition, he reported seeing a person with blood marks, possibly an Arab.

Police forces rushed to the scene and launched extensive searches and were joined by a man who introduced himself as a witness to the incident.

At the same time, in an attempt to return to the informant, his phone was disconnected and no findings were found in the field.

The informant, who was discovered as a 19-year-old from Be'er Sheva, provided an incorrect cell phone number whose address was an ultra-Orthodox resident of Modi'in Illit.

Police officers sent to a resident of Modi'in Illit realized that he did not know what it was about, and through technological operations, the informant was located, the same 19-year-old suspect who fabricated the story.

The suspect was released under house arrest and the investigation continues.
