Philippe Bélaval, president of the Center des Monuments Nationaux since 2012, which manages major historic sites, is delighted with the City's announcement of the widening of the central platform of the Arc de Triomphe (Paris VIIIe), building built at the instigation of Napoleon I, in 1806, and inaugurated in 1836 under the reign of Louis-Philippe.
