The Ministry of Environmental Protection and the Ministry of Health warned that today (Saturday) high air pollution prevails in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, the Jordan Valley, the eastern Negev and the northern Negev. In other areas, moderate to high air pollution prevails, due to high concentrations of respirable particles.
The reason for the high air pollution is easterly winds, which cause dust to travel from the direction of Jordan to our area.
A gradual improvement in air quality is expected towards night.
The Ministry of Environmental Protection, in consultation with the Ministry of Health, recommends that sensitive populations - including heart patients, lung patients, the elderly, children and pregnant women - avoid strenuous physical activity outside.
For the general population it is recommended to reduce strenuous exercise outside.
