Former US intelligence analyst and officer Scott Ritter confirmed that his country is repeating in Ukraine the mistake it made in Afghanistan by sending money to Kyiv without a clear plan and understanding of what is happening.
And the Russian RT website quoted Ritter as saying: “The US administration’s rush to provide tens of billions of dollars to help Ukraine reminds us that Washington is repeating the same mistakes that led to the fiasco in Afghanistan, and the talk here is about the inability to properly assess events in Ukraine.”
"US officials have misrepresented Ukraine as a brave and noble bastion of freedom and democracy, which is in stark contrast to the reality that contemporary Ukraine is one of the most corrupt countries in the world," Ritter added.
US President Joe Biden signed a bill to provide assistance to Ukraine amounting to about 40 billion dollars.
