The steelworks which remained the last obstacle to the Russian troops at Mariupol passed into the enemy camp.
"Today, May 20, the last group of 531 fighters surrendered," Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.
And to add: “The underground installations of the site, where the fighters were hiding, passed under the complete control of the Russian armed forces.
This last battle also marks the end of a symbol of resistance in Ukraine, even though the fighters will remain heroes.
