Glonn gets a leisure area - the first structures are already there

The municipality of Glonn has secured 4800 square meters for its leisure area - a skate park and other offers, especially for young people, are planned.

– The Glonner Bauhof recently drove up to the Grafinger Eisstadion.
Two strong guys heaved the ramps and railings of the local skate park onto the back of their orange truck.
The used Grafinger roller sports facility is the first building block for a leisure area in Glonn, which is now taking concrete shape after some preliminary work.
It will be a long time before young people can jump into the halfpipe on skateboards or inline skates.
But Mayor Josef Oswald (CSU) can now report: "We were able to secure a site." The community has a right of use by easement for 99 years for 4800 square meters of open space north of the WSV-Sportwelt, east of the building yard, a stone's throw away from Haslacher Straße .
For the case of a successful land use planning.
"I'm confident," says the head of the town hall about the ongoing process for a land use plan, which will soon also be an issue in the municipal council.
According to the mayor, the monthly interest rate is "well above agricultural leases and well below rents for residential and commercial use".
Recreational area Glonn: young people should have a say
The youngsters of Glonn should be much more interested than the money in what is planned for the area, apart from the skate park, which is almost exactly two-thirds of a FIFA-standard soccer field.
Recently, a bike park had also been discussed.
"We'll have to see what happens," says the mayor.
He would like to hear the young people again on the subject, after all the site will probably be mainly geared towards their needs.
And since the youth survey in 2018, years have passed in which some needs have changed.
An online survey is conceivable.
"No major construction works are planned," says Oswald.

The mayor is thus addressing the fears of residents: 56 Glonners had expressed concerns about the leisure area in a letter in 2020;
fears a place with the character of an amusement park that could become a magnet for the entire region.
"Not for all of Upper Bavaria, but for the Glonner youth" the area is intended, emphasizes Josef Oswald to the EZ.
"I can't imagine it being that attractive."
Resident Fears
The municipality will talk to the residents and of course there will be rules that the young visitors have to follow.
According to the mayor, it is naïve to believe that there will never be trouble.
It is crucial, however, to find “the best possible compromise”.
"So that it fits all sides."
According to Mayor Oswald, the used Grafinger skate park equipment is stored on the site of the building yard until leisure activities can begin on the site.
He is happy about the favorable opportunity that has emerged from the redesign of the Grafinger site.
"There were no large sums of money," he says of the Resterampen deal with Bärenstadt.
"The things were ultimately in the way."
