Much discussed: At the actor's workshop in the Schliersee farmer's theater, among others (from left) Weyarn's former mayor Michael Pelzer, risk researcher Rainer Sachs, Kulturvision chairwoman Monika Ziegler, Leader manager Simon Kortus and district administrator Olaf von Löwis looked for solutions that would to be more resilient to future crises.

Leader Manager Simon Kortus and Kulturvision Chairwoman Monika Ziegler have invited politicians, tourism experts and citizens to exchange ideas.

The goal: A future-proof district.

District – With an example, leader manager Simon Kortus illustrates the solutions with which the participants in the actors’ workshop “Our district of Miesbach 2030” in the Schliersee farmer’s theater want to prepare the area for future challenges: Otterfing’s mayor Michael Falkenhahn (SPD) held a discussion on citizen participation found out how many municipalities have now set up working groups and citizens' forums, for example on electromobility.

But they often did the same work twice, because everyone tackles all topics from the ground up.

Falkenhahn suggested a digital platform on which working groups could present their results so that other municipalities could tie in with the preparatory work.

Contact details, and the digital idea and networking marketplace is complete.

Because Kortus knew a computer program for

stood the basic structure.

The good ideas service will soon help district citizens to master challenges faster and more easily.

Leader and Kulturvision want to make the district more crisis-proof

With approaches like this, the participants in the stakeholder workshop organized by the local leader action group (LAG) and Kulturvision want to make the district more resilient.

Politicians such as district administrator Olaf von Löwis (CSU), Gmund's mayor Alfons Besel (FWG) and Miesbach's second mayor Astrid Güldner (Greens) as well as numerous district councilors discussed solutions with nature conservationists, entrepreneurs, tourism professionals and committed citizens that no one could have found alone.

"The more people think about it, the better the result," says Kortus.

"I am convinced of that."

The background to the project is a grant from the State Ministry for Food, Agriculture and Forestry.

This had defined six topics that rural districts could use to position themselves for the future and was looking for regions that could fill the theoretical specifications with life.

As a leader region, the district was given the task of dealing with resilience, i.e. resistance to crises: setting goals, checking fulfilment, solving blockages.

Because the Kulturvision association, headed by Monika Ziegler, tackled similar issues, they both decided to do something together.

District Administrator Löwis supported the idea.

Since February 2021, participants in idea workshops and discussion rounds have defined challenges that the district must address.

The goals found are nothing new: securing local food cycles, producing electricity yourself, introducing fewer fossil fuels and so on.

But that's where the problem lies, says Kortus.

“Everyone knows what to do.

The question is, 'How do we actually do it?'”

Stakeholder workshop is intended to turn good ideas into reality

The actors' workshop brought together people who want to do exactly that.

How can they benefit from each other?

Where is funding missing?

Where partners to implement a project?

Good ideas should find the last building block in the peasant theater that will make them a reality.

Kortus cannot finally say how well it worked.

The LAG will evaluate the results over the next few weeks.

However, the discussions had convinced him, as had a first look at the results.

The results will be included in the LAG's application for extension as a leader region in mid-July and then - subject to the award - used in the allocation of funds, says Kortus.

Leader can show applicants how to meet the goals even better and thus receive more funding for their projects.

In order to carry the findings into projects that Leader has no influence on, Kortus wants to make them available to the district councils as a basis for future decisions.

Ideally, he says, councils will adopt the results as binding targets for the county.
