According to the newspaper, the 63-year-old singer-songwriter, known for his commitment to the Yellow Vests and within the antivax sphere, presents himself under the label of a movement called
"France Libre".
His campaign
poster bears the words
“animalist, humanist, ecologist, sovereignist”.
“
I present myself as a simple citizen to achieve responsibilities without the tutelage of a party
, declared Francis Lalanne to
La Charente Libre
.
I will not decide anything, I will establish a permanent consultation with my voters to bring their voice to the Assembly
”.
Constituency of a dissident socialist
Francis Lalanne will run against the outgoing socialist deputy, Jérôme Lambert.
Dropped by the PS because of his opposition to marriage for all, and therefore not invested by the Nupes, the deputy will still stand for an eighth term under the banner of the Citizens' Movement.
Last week, the industrial tribunal of Rochefort (Charente-Maritime) asked the Fort Boyard production company to pay nearly 10,000 euros in compensation to the singer, after his dismissal in 2020 from the hit show in which he appeared between 2016 and 2019. His lawyer had assured that the eviction of Francis Lalanne from the show was explained in particular by
"his membership in the movement of yellow vests"
