An earthquake measuring 6 on the Richter scale struck north of the Svalbard archipelago in Norway today.
Reuters quoted the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center as saying that "the earthquake struck at a depth of 2 km north of Svalbard," without giving further details.
Last March, Norway recorded the strongest earthquake in the North Sea in years, when an earthquake measuring between 4.4 and 5.5 on the Richter scale was recorded, 160 km west of the coast.
