The Minister of Regional Cooperation, Issawi Frij, said this morning (Saturday) at a Shabbat Tarbut event in Ramat Hasharon that he is proposing to MK Jida Rinawi Zoabi, who announced her departure from the coalition, to resign from the Knesset.

"You are elected under this agenda. Meretz voters, by a large margin according to all the polls and all our conversations, want the government to continue to exist and leave Meretz in government. You are committed to acting on the agenda of the voters who sent you. And if not, simple logic. I In her place I would have resigned, that is how I would have behaved. "

Frege spoke with Rinawi Zoabi yesterday and conveyed messages to her in a similar vein.

Meretz chairman Nitzan Horowitz also spoke with her yesterday and PM Ram Mansour Abbas met with her and talked to her about continuing her steps after announcing her resignation. Shrinawi Zoabi announced that she had waived it in her retirement letter.

According to senior coalition officials, Rinawi Zoabi conveyed messages that she would not support the overthrow of the government or the dissolution of the Knesset, but that Meretz is still being pressured to resign and vacate her seat in the Knesset.

Meanwhile, a show of support for the government is expected tonight in front of the Knesset member's home under the heading "Preserving Equality and Democracy."

"Netanyahu is doing everything to dismantle us, and to form a racist Kahanist government - we will remain strong and united," it said.

"Let's promote partnership, democracy and equality together - let's keep this government in a show of unity under the house of MK Rinawi Zoabi.

"Let us show everyone who has lost hope that real change is being made together, by joining hands for the future of us all - Jews and Arabs in Israel."

Earlier, MK Eli Avidar said at a Shabbat Tarbut event in Petah Tikva that he would work to pass a law prohibiting a criminal defendant from forming a government.

"The thing that must be done is an agreement with the joint to pass the law," he said.

"If Shaked wants to overthrow the government that will overthrow it. It will bring Lapid to the position of prime minister in the transitional government. Passing the law will allow us to restore public confidence and we will not have to explain to him why we got a mandate and did not do what we promised.

Avidar added that "the flag parade in the outline of Omar Bar-Lev will be used by extremists to overthrow the government and this is a tangible danger."

In recent weeks, Avidar has demanded that the law banning the formation of a government by a criminal defendant be promoted, which would prevent Netanyahu from returning to form a government, but the law met with opposition in the coalition, mainly from the right-wing faction and Minister Ayelet Shaked.

This week, the coalition decided not to promote Justice Minister Gideon Saar's tenure restriction law, which Avidar also demanded be promoted - despite opposition from Shaked and Yemina.

"The law - the only thing that will save the public trust."

In a post published yesterday by the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Yair Lapid, it was stated that the existing government is the right thing for the State of Israel and the people of Israel.

"We have no intention of surrendering or giving it up. We have no intention of giving Bibi and Ben Gvir a chance to destroy the country," he said.

"We will do what we do every time again, we will sit with those who need to sit down, we will fix everything that needs to be fixed."

Lapid also referred to the coalition and sent them a message that he said they were saving the State of Israel and democracy.

"Yes, sometimes it's hard. You know what, it's supposed to be hard. Changing history is not an easy task," he noted.

"There are big, dark forces fighting us. So far we have defeated them - against all odds because we were determined and worked together. That is what we are going to do in the future as well. Only together will we win."
