According to Prime Minister Hendrik Wüst (CDU), the tornadoes in North Rhine-Westphalia show once again that more frequent extreme weather events must be expected.
When he saw the first videos of the tornadoes in NRW on Friday evening, his first thought was that it was only known from the USA, Wüst said on Saturday in Paderborn.
Paderborn - "When you see this swath of devastation here today, it really touches you.
Then you see that unfortunately that's also possible with us and we have to be prepared for something like this to happen more often here, ”explained Wüst.
One must be prepared for such extreme weather events.
"Of course it also shows the importance of climate protection, you can see that in such an accident," emphasized the CDU politician.
