The Russian Foreign Ministry announced a ban on the entry of a certain category of Canadians into Russian territory, which included more than 24 officials, their relatives, and senior managers of the military-industrial complex, shipbuilding industry and the leadership of the armed forces.

"The list of sanctions includes the wife of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, the commander of the Canadian Air Force, Lieutenant-General Eric Jean Kenny, the commander of the Canadian Navy, Admiral Angus Ian Topchi, and the commander of the Canadian army, Lieutenant-General Jocelyn Paul, among others," the ministry statement said.

"In the near future, new countermeasures in response to the hostile actions of the Justin Trudeau regime in Canada, which has embraced a staunch anti-Russian hatred, will be announced," the statement added.

The statement indicated that the Russian sanctions come in response to the anti-Russian sanctions announced by the Canadian authorities, which targeted not only representatives of the leading, military and commercial circles, but also the relatives of those who were blacklisted.
