Experts of the Russian company Rostec have created a portable radar to protect important infrastructure installations and important places from drone attacks.
And the Russia Today website quoted the company’s media office as saying that “this radar can detect small-sized drones at a distance of more than 1,000 meters and at low altitudes as well,” explaining that its weight does not exceed 5 kilograms and can be carried and moved from one place to another.
For his part, Andrei Komogortsev, Director General of the Rybinsk Instrument Production Plant, said, “The main task of this portable radar is the search for small air targets flying at low altitudes, as well as ground-based robotic systems, and it can track 32 targets at the same time.”
The company's experts explained that this radar works on the principle of the effect and processing of signals from moving objects or their moving parts, such as the propellers of unmanned aircraft, and is also capable of detecting a target at a distance of more than ten kilometers.
