Schliersee – The Sixtus run in Schliersee is scheduled for Saturday.

For this purpose, the B307 federal road must be temporarily closed.

In Schliersee, a large crowd sets out on Saturday (May 21) – at a run or with walking sticks.

At the Sixtus-Lauf Schliersee the participant limit was reached for the first time this year.

2,000 fit athletes start on their routes - there are three to choose from.

Start and finish are in the spa park at the Vitalwelt.

Due to the construction site on Spitzingstraße/Hachelbachbrücke, there will be a partial change to the 21-kilometer route in 2022.

This time the half marathon will not lead the runners to Aurach, but to the Bockerlbahnweg.

A few meters of altitude await, but there are also beautiful views.

Passing waterfalls and on unsealed paths, it then only goes down to Fischhausen and further along the western shore of Lake Schliersee.

After a detour in the direction of Hausham, the goal is soon reached.

The routes of the 7.5 and 10 kilometer run & walk as well as the children's and youth runs remain as before.

At the southern end of the Schliersee there is another sprint classification.

The fastest runner and the fastest runner each receive a non-cash prize.

Organizer Flowmotion from Gmund points out the construction site in Hausham, which can lead to significant traffic delays in the direction of Schliersee.

Flowmotion therefore recommends planning enough time or arriving by bike or public transport.

"The parking spaces at the Vitalwelt Schliersee are also very limited," it continues.

Drivers also have to be prepared for a hindrance because of the run: the B307 will be closed to traffic from 1.55 p.m. to a maximum of 2.45 p.m. between the Lautererstraße junction and the Neuhaus level crossing.

The start of the run will be at 2 p.m.

The offspring is already there before that.

It starts at 12 noon with the youth run (2,000 meters).

The midget run (500 meters) starts at 12.30 p.m. and the children's run (1,000 meters) at 12.40 p.m.

The award ceremony for the youngsters is at 1 p.m., for the participants in the Run&Walk at 5 p.m.
