Every major development of human civilization is inseparable from the transformation of social science and ideological guidance, but with the advent of the fourth scientific and technological revolution, the society has focused on technological breakthroughs and innovative applications such as big data and artificial intelligence. In terms of ignoring the theoretical thinking and problem-solving roles that social sciences should play.
However, is it really useless to study social sciences?
He Shunwen, President of the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, believes that social science education can help cultivate students' thinking, communication and judgment skills, and promote whole-person development; Zhao Zhiyu, Dean of the School of Social Sciences, Chinese University of Hong Kong, believes that the development of social sciences is also in a transitional period, which requires a combination of theory and practice.
