A new study has revealed that rising temperatures caused by the climate crisis are limiting hours of sleep worldwide.
A Danish study published by the British newspaper The Guardian today found that global warming increases temperatures during the night faster than during the day, making sleep more difficult, indicating that a person loses 44 hours of sleep annually, which leads to sleeping less than seven hours during the night, which is a standard standard for adequate sleep. .
The study indicated that the lack of sleep will increase as the planet continues to warm, but it will affect some groups more than others, noting that the rate of lost hours of sleep for each temperature is about a quarter higher for women compared to men and twice as much compared to those over 65 years old.
Previous studies have shown that higher temperatures harm health, including increased heart attacks, suicides, mental health crises, accidents and injuries, as well as reducing the ability to work.
