Today, the Minister of Culture, Dr. Lubana Mushawah, discussed with the organizers of the Omani National Museum ways to develop joint cooperation, as part of her visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
The Minister toured the museum’s departments, which includes 14 halls and halls and contains a large number of exhibits, antiques and valuable antiquities, and listened to an explanation about it presented by Dr. Mona bint Fahd Al Said, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Museum, and the assistance of the President of Sultan Qaboos University for International Cooperation.
Dr. Mona indicated that the museum displays artifacts from different eras and is an important educational center for visitors and researchers, and one of the most prominent landmarks and modern cultural institutions in the Sultanate of Oman.
In a meeting on the sidelines of the tour, the Minister of Culture discussed with Museum curator Jamal Al-Moussawi the methods and methodologies of modern museum display and the existing cooperation between the National Museum in Amman and the Directorate of Antiquities and Syrian Museums, stressing the need to overcome all difficulties that may hinder the work and cooperation of the two sides in this field.
It is noteworthy that the Syrian antiquities were a guest at the Amman National Museum, where the number of pieces is estimated at 175 pieces, which were restored and preserved using modern methods and methods in the laboratories of the Amman Museum.
It is scheduled to organize an exhibition of a number of these Syrian artifacts.
