The ADPL held an executive committee meeting today (21st) to discuss submitting a proposal to the incoming Chief Executive, Lee Ka-chiu, within June. It is especially hoped that the new government will listen to different voices with a compatible attitude and mend social divisions.
The meeting also discussed the future development direction of the ADPL, including the establishment of an advisory group, but the candidates are still under consideration.
Submitted a letter of opinion in June advocating the maintenance of the local administrative system
Liao Chengli, chairman of the ADPL, said that a letter of opinion will be submitted to the next government in June. The content will focus on people's livelihood and democracy, and reflect the public's demands, including poverty alleviation, housing improvement, and labor policies. Universal suffrage, maintaining and improving local administrative systems, and repairing social divisions.
He pointed out that an enlarged meeting will be held on June 11 for full discussion within the party, and then in June, before Li Jiachao takes office, a letter of opinion will be submitted by post. He welcomes the next government to communicate and discuss with the ADPL.
As for whether to send people to run for the district council or the Legislative Council in the future, Lee Ting-fung, vice-chairman of the ADPL, predicts that the next government will have new measures in district administrative reform, which will depend on how the authorities handle it.
If regional administrative or electoral reforms can accommodate different opinions, it is not ruled out to send people to run for elections. We hope that the new government will accept different voices and even dissenting opinions in a compatible and inclusive manner.

Invite scholars and professionals to set up ADPL advisory group
