Today (Saturday the 21st of May) the semi-finals of the Major of the Counter Strike will begin, an event that happens twice a year and actually seals the competitive season in the game.

This time - the event takes place at the SportPaleis Stadium in Antwerp Belgium.

Unprecedentedly the stadium, with its 40,000 seats completely sold out, and already in the preliminary broadcasts the event broke new viewing records for the counter strike.

So for the benefit of all who follow, and also those who join now, we are here in the field to summarize for you everything that is happening.

The teams that qualified for the playoffs are - Faze Clan, NIP, Team Spirit, FURIA, ENCE, COPPENHAGEN FLAMES, Heroic, NA'VI.

The quarter-final stage started last Thursday, and not everything went smoothly: a few technical twists and turns of the production, the first day seemed to be the first rehearsal day.

But the games that await us in the quarterfinals?

There is definitely something to wait patiently for.

The opening game between FAZE and NIP

NIP is considered a Swedish organization with a glorious history in the game, recently trying to come back to itself with a new and strong counter-strike team.

In the last year they have brought in a particularly strong acquisition - DEV1CE, the Danish star from the ASTRALIS group but mysteriously he has barely played in the squad since he was acquired, and has disappeared from the public eye.

He is currently being replaced by Brollan, acquired by Terry Swedish from the FNATIC Group.

Despite the frequent exchanges, NIP finished the home stages convincingly and posed a serious threat to any team in the competition.

FAZE is a huge American organization that spreads over a wide range of games, and under it also operate well-known streamers, fashion brands.

Snoop Dogg sits on their board of directors, and they now issue at a value of $ 1 billion.

What more could you ask for?

FAZE operates a European team in Counter-Strike led by Karrigan, one of the oldest and most intelligent captains in the game.

In recent competitions goes to an excellent FAZE, with a victory in the Intel Extreme Masters - Katowice.

And also took the ESL PRO LEAGUE championship.

All this in the last four months.

FAZE are currently at the peak of their ability and are definitely one of the favorites to win the competition

The first map - NUKE.

Result: 16-10 in favor of FAZE

The first map is a FAZE pick, though NIP started strong with five winning rounds leading them to a 5-0 lead.

Only in the sixth round did FAZE manage to break through their tactics and take a half-BUY round.

And from there reduce the gap to 6-4 in favor of NIP.

NUKE is a map where alongside the defender - the Counter Terrorist - there is an advantage and they are expected to lead.

FAZE managed to put a convincing amount of points on the board before moving to the preferred side of the map.

In the final round before the half, Twistzz secured one last point in a 1-on-2 clutch, and the half ended 9-6 for NIP.

In the second half FAZE opened burners and showed everyone again why they are the first ranked team in the world right now.

They played the defensive side perfectly and did not let the NIP move even an inch.

In the whole half NIP took only one point and the game ended 16-10 in favor of FAZE.

The second map - OVERPASS, result 16-13 in favor of NIP (choice of NIP)

The second map started with a victory for FAZE in the pistol round.

But NIP as in the previous game started strong and opened a 5-2 advantage.

FAZE started to wake up in the later rounds of the half, and with the cumulative loss bonus they managed to climb back and close the half 8-7 in favor of NIP.

In the second half there was a very close game, the teams found themselves with a score of 10-10.

Some great ropz and Twistzz clutches allowed FAZE to open up an easy lead but in the end the game ended 16-13 in favor of NIP.

The decisive map - INFERNO: Score 16-8 in favor of FAZE

The third map started like any other map with an advantage to NIP that went up to 3-0.

But this time the FAZE had already come heated and straight back to them with three rounds of their own to make it 3-3.

Following some great clutches and kills from es3tag and Broky.

The NIP team found itself in a significant 8-3 lead.

But somehow, FAZE once again put up gear and secured all the remaining laps in the half to finish it 8-7 to NIP.

After the exchanges the FAZE rushed forward with a perfect defensive play, as in the first map and took all nine points they were missing to close out the series of games.

And completely neutralized all of NIP's moves to advance to the semifinals and send NIP home.

Second quarterfinal - FURIA vs. TEAM SPIRIT

The second quarterfinal saw two teams from different corners of the world: Team Spirit - from Russia.

The group was allowed to participate after it was proved that the owners of the group were not under sanctions and even spoke out against the Russian government.

One of the two groups considered underdogs here at MAJOR.

Although the club itself has also won International, with the DOTA 2 group operating in parallel, it is a relatively small organization.

Opposite them were FURIA - the leading Brazilian club at the moment, and in general from a country that has grown some of the best teams in the world over the years.

FURIA also qualified for the playoffs in the previous major and are looking to bring home a trophy.

First Map - Vertigo: Score 16-12 in favor of SPIRIT (SPIRIT selection)

Although the SPIRIT group are considered underdogs, they came hot to the competition.

They finished the previous stage of the competition without a single loss, but some claim they won an easy draw.

In front of the live crowd of Antwerp, and for the first time in their career in front of a crowd, there is no denying that SPIRIT came here to take all the box office.

The first half started unilaterally with an attack by SPIRIT that gave them a 7-3 lead.

But after the initial adrenaline, the Brazilians seemed to be able to start initiating and reduced in the 15th round to 8-7 by the end of the half.

The second half opened with a win in the Pistol Round for the Brazilians, but a loss in the second round to buy SPIRIT's Forced (a dangerous bet. A tactic in which they buy the best weapons they can afford with a low budget. A loss in such a round entails no money rounds for weapons).

From there, it seems that SPIRIT's secret weapon was activated, the s1ren player who built his name and his future here as a world-leading player with an insane level of play on the defensive side, leading them to a 16-12 victory.

Second Map - Ancient: Score 16-8 (SPIRIT selection)

The second map also started in high gear with a degster from the SPIRIT group who finds three kills in the first round of guns.

After a saving round from FURIA, they seemed to be able to hold the defense against spirit and slowly filled the gap in points.

Towards the end of the half the score was 6-4.

After some very successful rounds in which magixx extracted kills out of nowhere Spirit took the lead and closed the half 8-7.

In the second half there is not much to expand, this is a master class on the map, Spirit lost only one round on the way to a 16-8 victory.
