50 male and female students from the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering at Al-Baath University in Homs carried out a voluntary work day that included cleaning a number of university gardens and the vicinity of the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering and a number of paths in the environmental garden, in addition to planting some trees and roses.

Muhammad Al-Masry, Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering, said in a statement to SANA reporter that volunteer work days have become an important tradition for the students of the faculty, out of their belief in the importance of this service-humanitarian work, which contributes to promoting societal values, pointing out that during the day more than 25 seedlings of almonds, figs, grapes and some plants will be planted. Coastal in addition to beautifying some gardens with roses.

In turn, Jaber Istanbouli, head of the youth branch office in the university branch of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, explained that the state of partnership taking place at Al-Baath University between the cadres of the Student Union, the party branch and the university administration to implement volunteer days has an important impact and a role in increasing the dissemination of the culture of volunteer work among the youth segment.

Student Ali Abdel Karim, a member of the student body at the college, indicated that student volunteer work contributes to achieving cooperation between students and increasing their self-confidence through joint service work.

Student Mohamed Ahmed said, "Today we participate in this volunteer work stemming from our desire, which reflects our love for our university, with the aim of cleaning and beautifying the university's gardens, in addition to completing the environmental garden project that the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering started at the end of last year, and it will be one of the vital and important projects at the university."

Volunteer student Raghad Al-Salloum expressed her happiness to participate in the volunteer days that the College of Agricultural Engineering holds on an ongoing basis to carry out cleaning, weeding, agriculture and beautification work, considering that volunteer work is an activity that gives the student field experience and instills the spirit of belonging and citizenship.
