A Palestinian teenager was killed by Israeli forces on Saturday morning May 21 during a raid in Jenin, in the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said.

The Jenin refugee camp has been the center of tension recently following a wave of attacks in Israel that left 19 people dead.

Thirteen Palestinians were injured last week during an operation by Israeli forces in the camp in which an Israeli soldier and a Palestinian were also killed.

Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett identified this Israeli soldier as Noam Raz.

The Palestinian was later identified as Daoud al-Zubaidi, a brother of Zakaria al-Zubaidi, who led the armed wing of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah movement and briefly escaped from Israeli prison last year.

The raids took place hours before violence erupted at the funeral of Shireen Abu Akleh, an Al Jazeera journalist who was killed last week while covering another Israeli raid at the camp.

During her funeral, Israeli police stormed the grounds of a Jerusalem hospital as the journalist's body was being transported for burial, sparking international outcry.
