Russian paratroopers executed at least eight Ukrainians in the city of Bocha on March 4, according to a New York Times investigation.
The investigation, which is based on the testimony of eyewitnesses and three videos obtained by the newspaper, details the execution of eight men by the Russian fighters.
The timeline of the incident was determined through two videos analyzed by the newspaper in which the Russian paratroopers are seen leading a group of Ukrainian men with rifles aimed at them at a Russian-controlled building, where their bodies were later found.
Several eyewitnesses who spoke to the newspaper - including one of the men who was shot but managed to survive - claim that the execution occurred after the men entered the building.
A video taken by a skimmer a day after the incident confirms the information.
The video shows two Russian soldiers guarding several bodies outside the building.
"I was shot, and I fell to the ground. The bullet went through my side," said Ivan Skiba, a 43-year-old construction worker, according to the New York Times.
"I pretended I was dead. I did not move or breathe," he said.

According to the investigation, those involved in the incident were identified using security camera footage from early March, while the Russians were still holding Bocha, as well as evidence left behind in the building after the Russians left.
The investigation identified eight men who were executed on March 4 after talks with eyewitnesses, local authorities and family members.
The Ukrainian men, according to the newspaper, had joined a local pre-military group a few days earlier.
During a visit to Bocha and Borodianka in mid-April, the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Karim Kahan, said that "there is a reasonable basis to believe that crimes defined under ICC jurisdiction occurred in both cities."
