Roman Römmich from Regensburg invented a playhouse with which children can let off steam creatively.

On Monday (May 23) he ventures into the "Lion's Den".

Will the 35-year-old get the deal?

Regensburg – toys that stimulate children's creativity are rare.

At least that's what Roman Römmich (35) from Regensburg thinks.

That's why he invented playhouses that children can paint, stick on and put together as they please.

With his start-up "Imagine Playhouse" (now renamed "ImagiNew Playhome") he will appear before the jury of the "Lion's Den" on Monday (May 23, 2022).

After ex-soccer professional Markus Smarzoch, Römmich is another Regensburger who dares to appear in the successful show on TV station Vox.

The father of three has long been concerned with the question of how children's creativity can be stimulated.

He finds that new toys often do not live up to this claim.

They would get bored too quickly, could usually only be used on one side and eventually ended up on the shelf.

"I've found time and again that the child's best toy is actually their own imagination," says the 35-year-old.

"The kids just love to build houses and caves out of cardboard boxes."

This is how Römmich came up with the idea of Imagine Playhouse (now: "ImagiNew Playhome").

The expandable playhouses made of washable plastic have doors and windows and are designed to invite children to play creatively.

Thanks to the material, the houses can be painted over and over again, according to Römmich.

There are also extra reusable stickers that children can stick on the walls and roof of the playhouse.

It should also be easy to connect several playhouses with each other.

So children could build a whole city in the home garden or the children's room.

"Setting up is easy.

You simply connect the individual components using the Velcro edges and the shell is ready in five minutes,” promises the founder.

"And when the playing time is over, everything can be quickly and easily dismantled and stowed away to save space."

50,000 euros for 20 percent of the company shares – does Römmich get the deal?

When Römmich steps in front of the “lions” with his little playhouse, jury member and entrepreneur Judith Williams becomes a child again: she puts all her physical effort into testing the idea of the Regensburg founder and climbs through the little playhouse that has been set up.

In order to further advance the start-up, Römmich needs an investment of 50,000 euros.

For this he offers 20 percent of his company shares.

Will the idea of paintable playhouses suffice for this deal?

You can see the whole episode on Monday, May 23, at 8:15 p.m. on VOX.
