It's about trust in the last joint ARD "crime scene" by Meret Becker and Mark Waschke, which ended fatally for Becker alias Nina Rubin.

Author Günter Schütter and director Ngo The Chau managed to create a strong thriller with strong actors.

"I have no talent for luck," the inspector once said at a tête-à-tête with the woman whose life she will later save - at the price of her own.

Just one of many sad moments in this "crime scene" whose tragic end is soon suspected.

The look is too melancholy, the investigator's face too empty to want to believe in anything other than a catastrophe.

It's about trust in this last joint crime thriller by the Berlin duo Nina Rubin (Meret Becker) and Robert Karow (Mark Waschke) - both in the case they are dealing with and in the relationship between the criminals.

A combination from which this film develops its enormous dynamic as if by itself.

Günter Schütter - he has already thought up several award-winning Munich "Polizeiruf" episodes - wrote a perfect screenplay for "The Girl Who Goes Home Alone".

Here Rubin's risky solo effort in the fight against the Russian mafia, there the struggle of two people who have become vulnerable through their unacknowledged feelings for each other.

Schütter provides thrill every minute, many a character has to fear being exposed at any moment - the young woman who wants to escape from the golden cage, the policeman who has let himself be bought, and last but not least Rubin, who betrays her partner.

Director Ngo The Chau pours all of this into dark, almost iconic images, both in the intimate and in the dramatic moments.

Shows the violence, the (violent) sex, but also the sensuality.

What is there between Julie (impressively: Bella Dayne) and the detective?

In all of this, the author and director can blindly rely on their outstanding actors. Becker and Waschke tell the entire story of their seven years at the Berlin CID with a few words, glances and gestures en passant.

The XXL showdown at the airport, peppered with film quotes, is not very realistic, but a bit of cinematography is allowed in this crime thriller, which gives the great Meret Becker the incredibly strong finish she deserves.
