State Minister of the Belarusian Security Council Alexander Volvovich announced today that Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups have been detected trying to enter the Belarusian territory.
Sputnik news agency quoted Volvovich as saying in a statement that the engineering equipment along the border with Ukraine monitors sabotage and reconnaissance operations carried out by Ukrainian groups sometimes trying to enter Belarusian territory.
For his part, the head of the Belarusian State Border Commission, Anatoly Labo, questioned the reason for the Polish side placing 15,000 soldiers on the country's borders, pointing out that the border guards are communicating intensively and constantly with the Belarusian army to monitor this situation and in anticipation of any action.
Last month, Belarus warned its western neighbors that any aggression against it would be met with a devastating response on their lands, noting the presence of unusual military activity on the border lands in Poland and Lithuania.
