Bennett: "Zoabi was promised to open the five-year plan money to Arab society"; Netanyahu: "He's lying" | Israel today

After the Meretz MK announced that she intended to vote again with the coalition, the prime minister said that the money promised to her was "old money" that was "stuck" in the bureaucracy. • The opposition chairman responded:

In response to the Likud's intention not to support the "Dimensions for Studies" bill that will be put to a vote in the Knesset plenum tomorrow (Monday), Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said tonight that the opposition's chairman, MK Benjamin Netanyahu, is shouting "hysterically."

"Unfortunately, Mr. Netanyahu is lying and shouting this hysterically. The truth is simple - MK Zoabi was not promised new funds."

The question for Mr. Netanyahu is the opposite - will you really lead the Likud to vote against scholarships tomorrow? "

Netanyahu, put politics aside.

In response to a prime ministerial video, the Likud released a video of Netanyahu's response.

Netanyahu is seen laughing, saying: "Bennett? Bennett who lied to all the citizens of Israel, who broke all his promises? Look how he is lying now."

He added that they gave Zoabi and MK Ahmad Tibi hundreds of millions of "old funds," in addition to "NIS 50 billion in old funds given to Mansour Abbas."

So, the chairman of the opposition said: "It will be useful tomorrow to give 100% to our fighters who give us 100%, which is a total addition of 50 million shekels, nothing, what you, Bennett, take to your house.

We will bring it tomorrow, give 100% to the fighters, we will see how you vote. "

Against the background of the law storm, which was intended to subsidize academic studies for discharged soldiers, it was learned that MK Ofir Sofer (Religious Zionism) is in talks with the coalition to advance his compromise proposal, according to which a fighter who wants academic studies and meets the criteria will pay a third of the degree. And if he successfully completes his undergraduate studies, this amount paid from the deposit fee will be refunded to him, and will be used for other purposes, such as an apartment, starting a business or a wedding.

The coalition's main argument is that when fighters have to fund part of the degree through their deposit money, they will take studies and degree eligibility more seriously.

A writer's proposal is intended to balance this need with the desire to grant warriors a full scholarship.

According to him, the gap between his proposal and the coalition's proposal amounts to only NIS 50 million.
