The festival committee of the Catholic Boys' Association Mammendorf can be proud of itself.

The four-day founding celebration for the 111th anniversary was a great success.

- In any case, the effort was worth it, said the chairman of the festival committee, Josef Mayer, a little hoarsely on Sunday morning.

“Corona made it a difficult planning phase because there was no security.

But we are all happy.

You noticed that people just feel like partying again.”

Cabaret artist Wolfgang Krebs designed the first evening in the marquee.

The political greats Stoiber, Seehofer, Aiwanger and Söder performed in his program "Vergelt's Gott" - the laughing muscles of the around 600 visitors were strained.

The evening was "gigantic", says lad boss Fabian Zacherl.

"Anyone who wasn't there missed something." The boys' association had already sold 550 tickets in advance.

Many municipal council members and mayor Josef Heckl also came, as well as members of the sponsoring association from Rottbach.

The post also went off on the second evening, on Friday.

The tent had been converted for the “Voigasparty”: with a centrally placed bar and dance floor.

A DJ provided music, "actually for every age group," said Zacherl.

Despite the boiling mood, everything remained peaceful.

"No one fell out of character," reported Zacherl, "the security was idle."

The ten groups participating in the “Game Without Borders” had a great time on Saturday.

They had to stack beer carriers and finally line up for the "sauerkraut eating competition".

This is how it was imagined when boys celebrate: the best weather, everyone in traditional costume, flags provide a magnificent backdrop.

The boys brought the four-day festivities to a festive end on Sunday.

As befits a Catholic association, a festival service was held in the Färbergarten from 10 a.m., celebrated by Pastor Wolfgang Huber, who had taken over the patronage of the boys' festival.

And to crown it all, a parade with around 1,600 participants from a total of 75 clubs went through the village from 2 p.m.

The major event ended with a parade of flags into the marquee, where the celebrations continued for a long time.

All in all, “a dream” for Zacherl.
