More than 50% of the dead are not caused by infectious diseases

According to the Food and Health Bureau, in 2016, the main non-communicable diseases, namely cancer, cardiovascular diseases (including heart disease and stroke), diabetes and chronic respiratory diseases, accounted for 55% of all registered deaths.
