The city library would like to support refugees in arriving and learning the German language.
Learning books for German as a foreign language at different levels, phrasebooks, grammar textbooks, dictionaries, magazines or literature in easy language should support this.
Music CDs with songs by German bands and films are also suitable for motivating people to learn a language.
In addition to the media stock for adults, the city library also has the first children's books in Ukrainian as well as bilingual books for children, which convey stories from everyday life in German and Ukrainian and also encourage learning German with a picture dictionary section.
The information brochures “Lesestart 1-2-3” (Lesestart 1-2-3) are also available in Ukrainian for parents of Ukrainian children, providing information on the relevance of reading aloud in families.
Families with children can also visit the library to try out the Lego makerspace in the children's library or treat themselves to a break in the reading garden.
At the beginning of March, the city library put together information on the war in Ukraine and available media offers at https://open.dachau.de/Infos/Ukraine.
