District administrator Robert Niedergesäß (CSU) has campaigned in the environmental committee of the district council for the creation of further positions in official climate protection.
Large sections of his own faction refused to support him.
District
– In the future there will be two additional positions in the Ebersberg District Office for the area of climate protection.
This was decided by the environmental committee of the district council with a narrow majority.
District Administrator Robert Niedergesäß (CSU) presented the administration's proposal in the debate.
However, most of his own faction did not follow him.
The district administrator's displeasure was obvious.
Apparently, the situation after the parliamentary group meeting was different from his point of view.
The district will miss its climate target if it is no longer passed
In 2006, the district decided to be free of fossil and other finite energy sources by 2030.
Climate protection manager Lisa Rütgers explained last year that this goal cannot be achieved unless significantly more is done.
She called for more financial and human resources to make progress.
In addition, some climate impacts will still be unavoidable.
Therefore, the issue of climate adaptation must also be addressed.
There was talk recently of three additional positions in the district office.
Greens: There is a lack of "manpower"
In January, the Greens parliamentary group submitted a motion to this effect.
It was said that there were only eight years left until 2030.
Therefore, effective measures must now be taken quickly.
"We have to think about how much climate protection is worth to us," said Niklas Fent (Greens) now in the environment committee.
"There is a lack of manpower." In the district of Munich, the projects progressed faster.
The district of Ebersberg is currently at the bottom with one position.
Reference is made to a comparison with other districts in the Munich area.
District Administrator Niedergesäß did not want to let that stand.
You have to look at it differently.
Very few districts have their own energy agency.
If you take that into account, “we shoot up,” says Niedergesäß.
CSU district councilor Lechner: Too many people are lethargic
"We don't need to compare ourselves with the district of Munich," said CSU district councilor Josef Oswald, mayor of Glonn.
"They're swimming in money." The district pays about ten people to the energy agency.
That's almost half the administration in Glonn town hall.
"The administration has to work in all areas." Father Stetten's mayor Leonhard Spitzauer (CSU) was also critical.
His parliamentary colleague Martin Lechner, on the other hand, advocated more staff.
"We have too many people who are lethargic." He voted for the administration's proposal, as did the district administrator.

With a narrow majority, it was decided that another full-time position would be created to support climate protection management in the district.
Costs 70,000 euros per year.
One task could also be to implement targeted climate protection measures on properties in the Ebersberg district.
Another full-time position will be set up to implement all of the district's measures in the context of climate change adaptation.
However, this decision is subject to change.
The district council has the last word in the budget debate.
