Shock in the air: the pilot aborts the Lufthansa flight after the smell of fire

A smell of burning forces a Lufthansa plane to return to Frankfurt Airport on its way to Sao Paulo/Brazil.
Frankfurt – The journey to Sao Paulo ended via Europe for the passengers of a Lufthansa plane on Friday (May 19).
The pilot aborted the flight just off the French coast near Nantes and flew back to Frankfurt Airport.
This can be seen on the flightradar24.com portal.
What happened?
As reported by the Porta Aviation Herald, which specializes in aviation incidents, after taking off from Frankfurt at 8:50 p.m., a smell of burning spread over the Bay of Biscay at around 10:05 p.m. in the Lufthansa Boeing 747-8.
Initially, the stench is said to have first been noticed in the cockpit, later it also spread to the cabin.
For safety reasons, the electricity was turned off there.
According to the portal, an electric fan is said to have caused the smell, as reported by fnp.de.
Frankfurt Airport: The Lufthansa plane returns after the smell of fire
The pilot of the Lufthansa plane with flight number LH-506 decided to cancel the flight to Sao Paulo and return to Frankfurt Airport.
The Boeing 747-8 landed there around 90 minutes later, as Aviation Herald reports.
For the passengers, it was no longer possible that day.
However, the Boeing 747-8 took off regularly again on Saturday (May 20) and brought the scheduled flight from Frankfurt Airport to Sao Paulo across the Atlantic without any problems.
