In Fraunberg, three BBV local groups are merging.

Andreas Drexlmaier is the local chairman at the top.

Grucking

– They have been working together for many years, planning events together, organizing lectures and excursions: the three local branches of the Bavarian Farmers' Association (BBV) in Fraunberg and in the sub-towns of Maria Thalheim and Reichenkirchen.

Now they have united at a meeting in the Gasthaus Rauch to form the local association Fraunberg.

21 eligible voters appointed a new board with Andreas Drexlmaier from Grub at the top.

It makes sense to concentrate on a local branch in the entire community, Reichenkirchen's former local chairman, Michael Eberl, explained the merger.

The number of farmers and members is steadily decreasing.

He himself is no longer available after 15 years in office, "but it was a good time".

It was the same for Josef Algasinger, who had been at the helm in Maria Thalheim for 20 years, and Bartholomäus Pfanzelt from the previous OV Fraunberg.

Mayor Hans Wiesmaier emphasized that it is important, especially among farmers, to represent an association that fights for the interests of agriculture.

"In addition, we now see in times of war how important it is to preserve rural culture and, above all, to rely on regional food.

In times of shortage, the value of agriculture becomes all the more visible.” Wiesmaier announced that projects should be created in the community in which farmers play an important role as local producers.

When asked rhetorically by BBV consultant Alois Obermaier whether a merger was desired at all, he received a unanimously positive vote from the assembly.

A name for the new local branch was also quickly found: It is now called BBV local branch Fraunberg.

The joking suggestion from the depths of the tavern hall to name the new project "Maria Reichenberg" met with many laughs, but no approval.

Deputy: Simon Selmeier (Bachham);

Assessors: Anton Wenhart (Grafing), Franz Berghammer (Vorderbaumberg) and Wolfgang Angermaier (Singlding)
