In the video: Bennett calls on Likud MKs not to oppose the "Dimensions for Studies" law (Photo: Roni Kanfo)
My name is Daniel Hochberg Yanai.
I am 22. I have served the state for two years and eight months as a combat medic in the 7th Armored Brigade.
My enlistment figures were among the highest.
I studied in a gifted class and my high school diploma was excellent.
Therefore, after the first order, I received a variety of summonses to all the best units - from cyber and reserve to pilot and cruisers.
I did not reach any of them.
My ideology was to enlist where I really needed to.
I knew that even the "regular" infantry units needed good soldiers and I was determined to give a shoulder. All my classmates had meanwhile enlisted in intelligence programs or tracks that included university courses and told me I was making a mistake. They called me a "sucker". A good man does what is necessary and not what is good for him.

I mentioned to them that fighters get undergraduate funding after service.
I said that when they are permanent - I will study my degree, and so it turns out that when I finish studying they will be released, and I will not be left behind.
What I did not know is that despite the welfare policy and the pursuit of equality, despite the huge love that the people of Israel have for the fighters, when the time comes for the big money, the political interest wins everything.
I gave up a reserve degree at the best universities in the country and the financial support of the state in order to be where it really is needed.
I trusted the state that when I needed it back it would back me up, the way I backed it up.
I was wrong and big time.
