Krailling - There is great joy on both sides when the citizens of Paulhan and Krailling in southern France meet again.

The newly designed Paulhan Platz will be opened at the May Day celebrations in Krailling.

The visit from Paulhan was long awaited.

Due to the easing of the pandemic restrictions, it was recently possible to receive a twenty-strong delegation from the French twin town in Krailling.

"It was particularly pleasing that three young people were part of this group," explains the municipality of Krailling.

Excursions to Mittenwald and Augsburg

The circle of friends had prepared an extensive program with excursions to Mittenwald and Augsburg, which took place in the best weather.

The highlight of the program was the opening of the redesigned Paulhan Platz.

After the renovation of the town center, the guests enjoyed being able to see the new Kraillinger maypole erected and celebrate with the Bavarian friends.

Passionate greetings for the German-French friendship

The German-French friendship was invoked in numerous speeches and the many similarities were emphasized.

The French Vice Consul General Benoît Schneider and District Administrator Stefan Frey were invited as guests, and they held passionate greetings for Franco-German friendship.

The First Mayor of Paulhan, Claude Valéro, and Deputy Mayor Christine Ricard also made a statement.

In Augsburg, in addition to the social settlement of the Fuggerei and the historic city center, the formative hydraulic structures, which are part of the Unesco World Heritage Site, were particularly emphasized during the city tours.

On the excursion to Mittenwald, nature presented itself from its best side: snow-covered peaks with fresh green in the valley and white-blue sky.

Serious topics are also on the agenda

At the meeting, the topic of climate change and renewable energies was discussed intensively.

All those involved view global warming with concern.

Texier branch held with subsequent discussion.

All events were generously supported financially by the German-French European Fund.

Paulhan issues an invitation for 2023

At the traditional, cozy farewell evening, an invitation was extended to a delegation from Krailling to visit Paulhan during the Pentecost holidays in 2023.

Such encounters were not possible for a long time.

But now we're celebrating together again.
