A Bundeswehr soldier was arrested in the early morning.
He is said to have hoarded explosives in his house.
Itzehoe - In a large-scale cross-border operation, a Bundeswehr soldier was arrested early Sunday morning at around 1:30 a.m., reports 24hamburg.de.
The police have been on duty in the tranquil Itzehoe-Wellenkamp north of Hamburg since the morning hours, with the support of ordnance experts.

Explosives found in Itzehoe: police on duty
The Bundeswehr member is said to have hoarded weapons, pipe bombs, mines and booby traps in an apartment building where the man lived.
The police cordoned off the area around the residential building and are currently searching both the residential building and the area around the house.
So far, the police have only written in a press release: "Since weapons were found during the search, the explosive ordnance clearance service supported this measure.
For reasons of investigation tactics, no further information can be given at the moment.”
